Cleaning can be deceptively management-heavy. Staff absences, rota changes, inconsistent standards, stock ordering, site checks, and last-minute issues can quickly become a drain on internal time and resources. What seems straightforward on paper often becomes far more demanding in practice.

High-quality cleaning does not happen by chance - it requires consistency, oversight, accountability, and the right systems behind it. For many businesses, outsourcing cleaning not only improves standards, but also reduces management burden and allows internal teams to focus on what they do best.

How much does commercial cleaning cost?

At Berry Cleaning, we believe pricing should be clear, fair, and based on the actual needs of the site. Wherever possible, we prefer to visit your premises before issuing a quotation, ensuring we fully understand the service requirements and can provide an accurate and transparent proposal. As a general guide, our commercial cleaning rates (from April 2026) start from £21.71 per hour for contracts requiring between 10 and 40 hours of cleaning per week. Larger contracts will often benefit from more competitive rates depending on scope and frequency. One-off cleaning services typically range from £28 to £50+ per hour, subject to the nature of the work and any site-specific requirements. Final costs may vary depending on a number of factors, including the type of cleaning required, site size, access, equipment, consumables, and location. Our operating hours

We offer flexible cleaning services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, allowing us to work around the needs of your business with minimal disruption. Our office team is available Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, and all clients are assigned a dedicated account manager with direct contact by mobile and email. Clients also have access to a site-specific portal app, providing 24/7 communication and support.

How long does the onboarding process take?

We aim to make every onboarding process smooth, efficient, and well-organised from the outset. As each contract is different, our mobilisation process is tailored to the specific needs of the site, service requirements, and operational setup. For new ongoing cleaning contracts, we typically request a minimum of one week to complete site preparation, build a bespoke cleaning schedule, allocate and train staff, and finalise all service documentation and arrangements. Where a quicker start is required, we will always do our best to accommodate this where possible. If TUPE is involved, we would recommend discussing this with us as early as possible to ensure sufficient time for planning and implementation.

We carry out appropriate risk assessments for both ongoing and one-off cleaning services to ensure each site is operated safely, responsibly, and in line with relevant requirements. Where necessary, RAMS and supporting Health & Safety documentation are completed during the onboarding stage before works commence.

How often do you carry out cleaning audits?

All of our sites are audited at least once per month as standard. For larger, higher-footfall, or more specialist environments, we may carry out audits weekly or fortnightly to ensure standards remain consistently high. We use a professional digital auditing system trusted by many recognised brands, allowing us to inspect every site thoroughly against its agreed cleaning specification. This means all key areas of the site are checked regularly, recorded properly, and monitored over time. Our audits give clients full visibility of service standards and make it easy to identify, communicate, and resolve any issues quickly. Monthly reports can be shared directly with the client, helping to maintain a clear and proactive line of communication between our cleaning operatives, management team, and your business. The system is also fully site-specific and customisable, allowing us to manage much more than just audits. This includes: Cleaning schedules, Site instructions, Health & Safety documents, RAMS, Action points, Additional requests, Service communication and updates. This structured approach helps us maintain accountability, consistency, and transparency across every contract.
